Die Alte Scheune Bed & Breakfast Merlscheid
A few kilometres from the German-Belgian border, lies the quiet village of Manderfeld. This village is part of the municipality of Büllingen and lies in the nature reserve: The High Fens – Eifel.
As a centrally located village, Manderfeld is surrounded by 17 villages and hamlets. One of them is Merlscheid, the hamlet where our Bed and Breakfast is located.
For some time, we had been dreaming of embarking on a new challenge with our young family. Finally, in 2009, we ended up in this beautiful part of the East Cantons.
We bought an old house there with a barn and stables. The location, together with the beautiful views, seemed like the place for our dream.
After several years of major renovations, we were able to welcome our first guests in December 2012.
With us, you can enjoy the peace and quiet after long walks through the woods and along the meadows in the beautiful Our valley. But it is also an ideal base for day trips to Germany or Luxembourg.
And if there is snow, you can go cross-country skiing or enjoy a sledge ride on our meadow behind the B&B.
In short, in every season you can enjoy the beautiful nature and healthy outdoor air here.
